Red Knot Tracking Instructions

Navigate to your app store.

Search "Animal Tracker" and click "get," then "install."

Once the app is downloaded, click on it. You can either create an account or click on "continue without account."

While in the app, navigate to the search bar. To select our red knots you will need to type in their flag code, one by one, from the list below. Type the first code from the list below, making sure all letters are in capitalized. 

Begin with "4U*" and click on it as it appears.

Once 4U* is selected,  Click on the star button in the middle right. This will add this bird to your "favorites". Then, repeat the search with the next flag code (LA0), each time clicking on its icon and clicking the star. Repeat with the rest of the list.

Once all the birds have been starred, click on "favorites" on the bottom right menu. Click on the three vertical dots on the top right, and select "show all favorites on "map." You should be able to see satellite-tracked red knot on the same map, with their latest location.

To view an individual bird's activity, click on the icon for that bird. Once selected, click on "Activity" in the middle menu row. The app will show the birds current location and its recorded movements over the last 2 weeks or 12 months.
