Red Knot Tracking Instructions

Navigate to your app store.

Search "Animal Tracker" and click "get," then "install."

Once the app is downloaded, click on it. You can either create an account or click on "continue without account."

While in the app, navigate to the search bar. To select our red knots, type in each flag code, one by one, from the list below. Make sure all letters are capitalized. Begin with "4U*" and then click on it when it appears.

Once 4U* is selected,  click on the star button (middle right). This will add this bird to your "favorites". Repeat this search process with the next flag code (LA0), and then the rest of the list.

When you have starred all the birds on the list, click on "favorites" (bottom right). Click on the three vertical dots (top right), and select "show all favorites on "map." You should be able to see satellite-tracked red knots on the same map, with their latest location.

To view an individual bird's activity, click on the icon for that bird, then click on "Activity" (middle menu row). The app will show the bird's current location and its recorded movements over the last 2 weeks or 12 months.
